Straits Wood Treating Incorporated and its subsidiary, Straits Wood Products, specializes in the manufacturing of posts and poles, wood drying and  preservation treating utilizing Micronized Copper Azole and CCA, and wood chip recycling. The treatment plant is located on Wilder Road in Bay City.


Mauk Midwest Forest Products Inc. is our distributor of treated wood products in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. It offers hand hewn log siding and accessories, wood sidings and patterns, paneling, and solid pine doors. The company was founded in 1988 and is based in Lansing, Michigan. As of May 19, 2004, Mauk Midwest Forest Products, Inc. is a subsidiary of Lake States Lumber Company, Inc. From website.


Mackinac Land & Cattle Company is our Agricultural commodity based business situated in Iosco and Ogemaw Counties of Michigan. MLC manages over 8,000 acres of land, 4,000 acres of crops, and 1,000 head of cattle and has the storage capacity for approximately 270,000 bushels of grain.



Gentz Industries, LLC  has established an outstanding reputation in providing intricate, high-precision engine components to the aerospace industry for over 50 years. Their 102,000 sq. ft. facility is located in Warren, Michigan, a southeastern Michigan community .  Gentz is ideally situated to coordinate an extensive array of manufacturing specialists to provide a one-stop answer for your production, development, or repair needs.



The Central Michigan Railway Company once served the Bay City market with connections to the Canadian National Railroad, the CSX Railroad and three additional Michigan railroads. With the sale of a portion of the railroad to Rail America in 2004, CMR holds available trackage in many areas of northern and central Michigan as well as in the Grand Rapids area. The company now manages real estate holdings and leasing transactions.



The Straits Operations Company, also a land holding arm of the corporation, monitors corporate services of the company, such as personnel, accounting, and information technology.
